Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have unanswered inquiries or concerns on your mind? Continue reading below to learn more about some frequently asked questions about our practice and dentistry in general!

How do I find the best place to get dental work done?

Caring for your smile can be an incredibly personal endeavor, and it’s only natural to want to find the right provider to meet your unique needs. To do that, however, it helps to first take some time to identify exactly what those priorities are.

For example, do you know of certain treatments you are likely going to want or need, like getting veneers or a dental crown? Do you need a provider who is in-network with your insurance? Are you seeking care for yourself or for your children and family? Answering these questions can help direct your search to find a suitable dentist.

How much does a dental checkup and cleaning cost in Fort Worth?

The American Dental Association recommends visiting your dentist every six months for a standard visit, but if you’re unsure what routine care costs, you might avoid scheduling an appointment.

Typically, you can expect to pay anywhere from $75 to $200 for a checkup and cleaning in Fort Worth, though it depends on your unique circumstances. For instance, your dental insurance might cover up to 100% of preventive services so you don’t owe a dime. However, you’ll also be expected to pay for any procedures needed if we find issues, like cavities or gum disease, which can increase your final invoice.

What’s the best way to find a provider who identifies as female?

Many people experience anxiety around dental visits and prefer the gentler touch of a female provider. Thankfully, it’s not usually too difficult to find someone to suit your preferences, as nearly 1/3 of practicing dentists and about half of all current students identify as women.

At our office in Fort Worth, Dr. Renee Corbitt gladly welcomes patients of all ages and is happy to take the time to get to know your unique smile goals and concerns so she can tailor treatment plans to meet your needs.

What level of education is required to become a licensed dentist?

Are you wondering what makes Dr. Corbitt and other dentists qualified to practice on patients? Rest assured, all dentists are highly accomplished individuals  who must meet specific criteria to be allowed to licensed.

First, they must earn an appropriate bachelor’s degree and then achieve either a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from one of 70+ institutions accredited by the American Dental Association. Then, they can choose to focus on one of twelve officially recognized specialty topics.

Dr. Corbitt began her education at the University of Texas at Arlington before graduating with her DDS from the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio Dental School. She has since completed hundreds of hours of continuing education to offer the most recent treatments using the state-of-the-art technology.

What do you do if you can’t afford a dentist?

Dental insurance is often a simple and effective way to reduce your out-of-pocket expenses for dental care, but we understand that not everyone carries a policy. However, we don’t want your finances to keep you from potentially smile-saving treatments, either.

If you’re worried about paying for services, you can apply for a flexible financial package through CareCredit. If you’re approved, you can divide your total invoice into more manageable installments over a designated period that are easier on your wallet.
